The Power-QWK 'History' Screen
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This screen allows you to re-process, or change information
relating to, replies or messages entered during the current
Power-QWK session.
If a reply-file (.REP or .MSG) existed at the start of the
session then this will have been unpacked when you first entered
the Messages topic so that you can re-process replies from a
previous session as well.
Select a message for re-processing by using the cursor and/or
paging keys. Once a reply has been selected, the keys shown below
have the effects indicated:
Enter - Edit the message. This will also cause the date/time
stamp in the message header to be updated to 'time now'
unless the current message base has date stamping
switched off.
Del - Delete the message.
A - 'Also send' the message to another addressee.
Once having pressed A, you may press F2 to access the
Addressee Pick List.
C - Change the destination Conference, using the Conference
Pick List.
D - Display the message, with Ansi art and music support if
appropriate.
G - Gateway to DOS.
M - Change the date/time stamp to 'time now', unless the current
message base has time-stamping switched off.
P - toggle the Private/Public Status field.
S - edit the 'Subject' field.
T - edit the 'To' field. Once having pressed T, you may press
F2 to access the Addressee Pick List.
Ctrl/t - select a new tagline for the message. If you press Esc
at the tagline selection screen, the tagline (if any)
of the current message will be deleted.
Ctrl/t is also available whilst a message is being
displayed using the D function.
Esc - leave the History Screen; return to the Power-QWK Conference
Menu.
Note that if you edit a message, or alter, add or delete its
tagline, Power-QWK moves the message physically to the end of the
file containing all the replies. This causes its entry on the
History Screen also to move to the end of the list of messages.
However, Power-QWK moves the on-screen pointer to the entry's new
location so you can't lose it. Just don't worry that the on-screen
message order changes.
